3DS Gets Massive Price Cut, Nintendo Making Loss

Nintendo will cut the price of its 3DS device, it has emerged. The company, which posted some terrible financial results today, is hoping that this will help the console improve its unimpressive sales numbers.

The cut - from $250 to $170 in the US - will results in Nintendo making a loss on every device sold. Sony and Microsoft have done similar things with the Xbox 360 and PS3 over the years, but it is a practice that Nintendo has tried to steer clear from as much as possible.

The Wii U is out next year, and Nintendo is hoping that the 3DS will sell many more units before the home console steals its thunder.
