3DS Price Wars Rage On
Nintendo’s newest console, the 3DS, is only due to hit stores in the West towards the end of March, but a price war is already raging between retailers in the UK and elsewhere.
Originally expected to sell for around 230 Pounds Sterling (around R2500), stores have been slashing prices in an effort to undersell each other. Amazon.com and Morrisons are leading the way, with the latter company offering the console for 187 Pounds Sterling (around R2000).
When the 3DS reaches South African shores, it is set to fetch around R2800.
The gadget, which enables players to experience 3D graphics without the use of special glasses, has already been released in Japan to great success. According to internet reports, more than 200 000 units were sold in the first week of March.
