Sony has invested a lot on the success of its upcoming handheld, the PlayStation Vita, but many industry pundits have voiced concerns over whether the modern market really has a place for such a new device.
Sony has invested a lot on the success of its upcoming handheld, the PlayStation Vita, but many industry pundits have voiced concerns over whether the modern market really has a place for such a new device.
Activision boss Bobby Kotick is the latest industry bigwig to voice his concerns.
"It is a fantastic piece of hardware," he said of the Vita. "Technically, we're super excited about what we can do on it, it's really something incredible. The question is, where is the market? I think the pricing was surprisingly affordable, the product itself is really great - so the questions is, is there a need in the marketplace for a very specialised portable device of that capability?"
The Vita will hit the West early next year.
