Apple Pushes Cloud At Conference
Apple yesterday tried to sell assembled journalists on its new cloud initiative. Steve Jobs was even on hand to try and push the concept. In essence, the company is trying to get everyone to move to centralized computing by adopting its cloud philosophy.
Apple yesterday tried to sell assembled journalists on its new cloud initiative. Steve Jobs was even on hand to try and push the concept. In essence, the company is trying to get everyone to move to centralized computing by adopting its cloud philosophy.
“We’re going to demote the PC and the Mac to just be a device -- just like an iPad, an iPhone or an iPod Touch,” Jobs told the crowd. “We’re going to move the hub of your digital life to the cloud.”
As usual, there was plenty of talk about the end of Microsoft, Windows and the PC. However, one cannot help but wonder if all of this bluster was a cover for the fact that the iPhone 5 was nowhere to be found, and there were, in essence, no exciting announcements to be made at all.
