Apple has been dominating the tablet market since the release of the iPad a few years ago. Now it seems that the company doesn’t like the competition that is slowly eating away at its massive market share. Yesterday it was revealed that Apple has filed a lawsuit against Samsung, accusing the tablet maker of ripping off the iPad.
"Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple's technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products," Apple claimed (via CVG).
Samsung, of course, denies any such claims.
Unfortunately for Apple, it doesn’t seem to have too many solid accusations to throw at Samsung. Their main complaint seems to be that the “look” and “feel” of the Galaxy tablet is too similar to the iPad. That’s not exactly something you can patent, however.
While there is no consensus among legal experts, early indications seem to be that this one will end up with some sort of settlement after years of protracted legal battles.
We’ll keep you posted as this story develops.
