Assassin's Creed has sneakily become one of the biggest money-earners in the gaming industry. The sneak-em-up has become increasingly popular since the release of the first game, and Ubisoft recently announced that Brotherhood has shipped nearly 7.5 million copies.
Assassin’s Creed II sold a bit more than that (nearly 10 million), but Brotherhood seems set to eventually surpass its predecessor.
Ubisoft recently revealed that it is working on yet another game for the franchise, which is subtitled Revelations. It will end the Altair storyline, and Assassin’s Creed 3 will then feature an entirely new character.
So Ubisoft is definitely thinking in the long-term with this franchise. And why shouldn’t they? It’s become one of the most popular of this console generation.
