Bethesda To Make Fallout MMO

Bethesda has won a legal battle against Interplay over the rights to create a Fallout MMO. Bethesda had the rights to the Fallout name, but had to give it back to Interplay if the studio didn’t develop an MMO within a certain period of time. After a $2 million settlement, Bethesda now has full rights to the franchise, and is expected to start work on an MMO soon. “Fallout is an important property of ZeniMax and we are now able to develop future Fallout titles for our fans without third party involvement or the overhang of others' legal claims," Bethesda’s parent company said. “While we strongly believe in the merits of our suits, we are pleased to avoid the distraction and expense of litigation while completely resolving all claims to the Fallout IP.”
