DC Universe Online has just introduced a new online store, which allows players to buy various items for real-world cash. Many observers believe that this is a precursor to the game going free-to-play in the near future.
DC Universe Online – which is available on both the PC and PS3 – has only been out for about 6 months, but internet reports suggest the game is struggling to keep subscriber numbers up.
Many other MMOs – such as Age of Conan and Lord of the Rings Online – have gone Free To Play of late with great success, so it stands to reason that DC Universe Online might also be leaning in that direction.
