DS Outselling 3DS
The 3DS has been doing incredibly well since its launch last month, but it seems that it is being outdone by another console already – the DS. According to Eurogamer, the DS significantly outsold its 3D counterpart in the US over the past month.
The 3DS sold more than 400 000 units, so the fact that the DS managed even more is mightily impressive.
"The 3DS launched in the US on 3/27, so seven days of retail sales are included in this month's results,” a company spokesperson told Eurogamer.“The 3DS launch compares quite favorably to that of the best-selling dedicated handheld gaming platform of all time, the Nintendo DS.”
The DS is still selling incredibly well, despite its age. This is largely due to its low price and the fact that high-profile software is still being released for it.
No matter which of these consoles does better, Nintendo will still be thrilled with the numbers. After all, they get the money from both anyway.
