Disney's interest in console gaming is waning. The company, which closed Black Rock Studio - responsible for Split/Second on the consoles - is reportedly looking to move away from the console gaming market.
"Disney has consciously stated that it no longer sees console as a priority," an analyst familiar with the situation told Eurogamer. "I'm completely unsurprised that they shut down the studio, when they are no longer focused on console."
Disney has recently been making moves to position itself in the casual gaming market, but there has never been this clear an indication that it actually wants to focus solely on that element of gaming.
This is certainly a shame, since its main IPs have a lot of potential for good games on the consoles.
