Ico Creator Leaves Sony

The creator behind Ico and The Last Guardian, Fumito Ueda, has left Sony after many years at the company.

The legendary designer is busy finishing The Last Guardian – which is way overdue – and has said he will definitely see the project through. However, the game still apparently faces quite a few difficulties.

"It's been very difficult in terms of seeing the progress: not as fast as we'd been hoping for, and the team has been under big pressure," he said of the project recently.

The game is due out in 2012, and Ueda has not said what is plans are after The Last Guardian ships.
