Id Fires Staff

The legendary developer behind Doom and Quake, id, has fired numerous members of its development staff. The studio’s latest FPS, Rage, has done well since its release last year, which has led some analysts to wonder if the company might be in some financial trouble. However, Id says that the layoffs are part of the cleanup after the completion of Rage. "id regularly evaluates staffing to ensure it has a workforce that meets the needs of the studio,” the company said.“As part of that process, some id employees were recently let go.”
