Lady Gaga Helps Farmville Raise Money
Zynga, the company behind the mega popular Facebook game Farmville, recently set up a fund to help victims of the Japanese earthquake disaster. Since the start of the campaign, they have raised more than $2.5 million, and that number was significantly increased on Monday when pop star Lady Gaga donated $750 000 to the cause.
According to TechCrunch, Lady Gaga donated the money she raised through sales of her Japan Prayer Bracelets.
“I’m inspired that my little monsters banded together to help those affected by the terrible tragedy,” the site quotes Lady Gaga as saying. “What Zynga’s players have done for the cause is equally inspiring, and I’m thrilled to partner with them to raise money that will go to Save the Children and the American Red Cross.”
Zynga has a long history of helping charities, and players of the companies many popular games have raised millions of dollars over the past three years in aid of various charitable causes.
