Microsoft Limiting Number Of Big Xbox 360 Games For 2012
Microsoft has said that it is focusing on quality, not quantity, for the Xbox 360 this year. Only a few big-name titles – most notably Halo 4 – will grace the console this year, but this is apparently a conscious decision from the Xbox people.
"Creating core IP, as many first-and third-parties have seen over the years, isn't an easy thing," one exec at the company said of the situation. "I went through the process of creating Gears with Epic and I know the sweat, time, and effort hat went into it. I also worked on things like Alan Wake, Too Human, Crackdown, and stuff that didn't hit the same level of success, but had an equal amount of sweat equity and heart go into getting created."
Some analysts think that Microsoft is shifting its focus to the expected Xbox 720, hence the small number of AAA title for 2012.
