Modern Warfare 3 has racked up $1 Billion in sales, it has emerged. This is a truly astonishing statistic, and Activision reacted accordingly.
“Engagement of our Call of Duty audience continues to rise around the world,” Activision’s CEO said of the news. "Call of Duty as an entertainment franchise has made an indelible mark on popular culture and its broad and continued success is further validation that audiences increasingly value interactive experiences over passive experiences."
The game sold 6.5 million copies on its first day, and is expected to sell more than 20 million copies by some analysts.
