New Assassin´s Creed Will End Altair´s Story

According to Ubisoft, the upcoming Assassin's Creed Revelations will end the storyline of the franchise's main character, Altair. The next numbered sequel will apparently be about a new character entirely.

"This game is where we're setting the record straight," a studio bigwig said recently. "We're closing all the loops that have been started that have been left in suspense and we're going to reveal not only a lot of stuff about the first civilisation plotline but we're also going to conclude the Ezio and Altiar storylines."

The last game in the franchise, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, was hugely successful, selling well in excess of 2 million copies, and Ubisoft clearly wants to strike while the iron is hot. There have been rumours that Assassin's Creed 3 might already be in a pre-development stage, but this has not been confirmed.
