Nintendo got its fans all frothy with excitement at E3, when it announced that a new Smash Bros. game would be heading for the Wii U and 3DS. However, the creator of the popular series, Masahiro Sakurai, has once again emphasized that development hasn’t even started – and won’t for some time to come.
"We've got two new games out in the open when there's no extra time to work with them at all,” he said recently. “It makes me cringe, and I'm not sure it's the smartest thing to make gamers wait for several years. But the early announcement was made chiefly in order to attract new team members."
The Wii U is out next year, but there is no date for the new Smash Bros. title.
