Nintendo's CEO this week accepted the blame for the many failings of the company's 3DS console, and took a self-inflicted pay cut as punishment.
"I feel heavily responsible for this kind of announcement we had to make," he said of Nintendo's poor numbers.
"For cuts in fixed salaries, I'm taking a 50 percent cut, other representative directors are taking a 30 percent cut, and other execs are taking a 20 percent cut."
Though the 3DS started strongly when it first went on sale, it has suffered tremendously of late, often being outsold by the ancient PSP. Most pundits blame a lack of games for the console's poor performance.
