Nintendo Stockpiling Games For Staggered Release

Nintendo has admitted that it is stockpiling completed video games in order to better plan releases to maximize sales. The company, which recently posted a mammoth financial loss, is trying to space out releases so that major titles don’t steal each other’s thunder.

"Video games need to stay fresh, so it is not practical for us to put them on hold for too long," the company’s president said recently. “But we think that some of them may be held for a certain amount of time so that there will be a short interval between when they are completed and when they are launched.”

Nintendo intends to hold some major releases back over the coming holiday season.
