Yesterday we reported that the PSN was down across Europe and the US, and it seems that Sony is still no closer to resolving the problem. Originally, the company simply said it was down for some “maintenance,” but it seems that something is terribly wrong with the service.
"While we are investigating the cause of the Network outage, we wanted to alert you that it may be a full day or two before we're able to get the service completely back up and running," the PlayStation blog stated.
"Thank you very much for your patience while we work to resolve this matter. Please stay tuned to this space for more details, and we'll update you again as soon as we can."
There have been lots of rumours that hacking group Anonymous is behind the attack. The group promised to launch a major attack on Sony last week, but until now nothing has materialised.
"Our support teams are investigating the cause of the problem, including the possibility of targeted behaviour by an outside party,” Sony said of the situation.
