After months of nothing but bad press, Sony's PSN had a rare positive announcement to make yesterday. A new branch of the online network was launched in Brazil, South America's most populous nation.
The PSN was hacked a few months ago, leading to the service being down for three weeks as Sony worked to improve security. It re-launched in the some time ago, but suffered additional downtime in Japan, where the government was unhappy with the security improvements.
The free products and services that Sony gave users affected by the breach will evidently also be available to Brazilian gamers, even though the network did not exist in their country at the time of the outage.
