The PlayStation Vita has sold 500 000 units since its launch in Japan last month. While this is certainly a respectable figure, it is way short of expectations. Most of those units were sold in the first week after release, and demand has since plummeted.
The PSP, in contrast sold more than twice as many units, shifting a total of 1.6 million consoles over the same period of time.
Despite pressures from all corners, Sony has refused to drop the price of the embattled Vita.
