Xbox 360 Enjoys Blockbuster Sales, Profits

 

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox 360 enjoyed its best holiday season ever at the end of 2011. 8.2 million units were shipped, a massive bump from the 6.3 million of a year before. "In addition to the continued strength of our commercial business, this holiday season was the strongest in Microsoft history, thanks to good sales execution and compelling products like Xbox 360 and Kinect," Microsoft said. "We are seeing a lot of excitement for new devices, from Windows 7 Ultrabooks to new Windows Phones, as well as growing anticipation for Windows 8." Analysts expect Microsoft to announce the Xbox 720 sometime this year.
