There are always rumours floating around about some Apple product or another. Now that the iPad 2 has hit shelves already, the latest round of whispers has concerned the iPhone 5.
Unlike in previous years, Apple will apparently not unveil the new device in June or July. However, production will probably kick off during that time, with the phone going on sale in September.
This goes against what we heard last week, when Apple insiders indicated that the iPhone 5 would only be released next year.
This latest news – which has even been picked up by Reuters – seems more likely to us. Apple has always been a company with one eye on its bottom line, and releasing a new phone just before the Christmas rush certainly won’t hurt.
We’ll keep you posted as this story develops.
